The whale company is a charity that focuses on environmental education and conservation, working with schools and communities to promote connection to nature through sup; driving positive change in attitude and behavior and encouraging the emergence of innovative solutions for a more sustainable world.
On world oceans day 2017 carlos and carolyn of the whale company became the first people in the world to paddle a marathon on a sup made out of plastic bottles. They went on to complete 12 marathons in 12 countries in europe, catching the eye of the media to raise awareness; the plastic bottle board is a great tool to initiate a conversation about plastic pollution. In 2018 carlos and carolyn paddled the length of the river thames from the source to sea, stopping to talk to 2000 students from 15 schools, local mps and to deliver messages from the children to the minister for environment, thérese coffey.
