Our 2018 boards show a higher performance and a lower carbon footprint. Our R&D team is focused on creating eco-innovations for better boards and a better future.
By investing in sustainable materials, installing solar power onsite at our headquarters and adopting eco-friendly habits at Starboard, we have reduced our negative impact on the planet.
And by continuing to invest in Mangroves, push for regulations on plastics and organize clean-ups on the water, we are creating a positive impact on the planet. Being what we call Impact Positive is Starboard’s new mission. We aim to leave the planet in a better way than we found it.
That’s why we plant one Mangrove tree for every board we sell – making your board 10 times carbon net positive! Starboard has planted 136,500 trees in Thor Heyerdahl’s climate park over the past years with the purpose of offsetting our carbon emissions and going carbon net positive for the past two years.
However, our next goal is to become Carbon Past Positive – by capturing more carbon from the atmosphere than Starboard has emitted over its lifetime. You can do it too! Adopt your own trees in Thor Heyerdahl Climate Park in Myanmar and join us in accelerating a positive force for the planet.
